Mrs Kaajal Luckraz (née Nathoo)

– Founder & Owner, Pharmacist

Kaajal studied at King’s College Hospital in London and graduated with an MPharm in 2005. She trained with Boots Ltd in the city of London and at the Imperial NHS Trust. Kaajal qualified as a pharmacist in the United Kingdom in 2006 and in Mauritius in 2007, and has since practised professionally in London and Mauritius in a wide variety of platforms each with its own unique opportunities and challenges.

Biosante Labs

Since 1993, Biosante Medical Laboratories have been ensuring Quality Medical Laboratory diagnostic services at socially-responsible prices, to promote health consciousness among inhabitants. In June 2014, they became the FIRST Medical Laboratory to be accredited ISO 15189 in Mauritius.

Biosante Lab results are diagnosed under a designated Internal Quality Control system and by an internationally recognized External Quality Control run by THISTLE (South Africa) & RIQAS (UK), which helps maintain their commitment towards Precision, Accuracy, Reliability, Consistency and Timely services.

NGOs

Heart Health Mauritius - who advocate for and with people affected by heart diseases.
SOS Village - a leading child care Non-Governmental Organisation which provides long-term care to needy children. Their target group consists of children who have lost parental care and those who are at risk of abandonment or whose basic rights are not being fulfilled.

Thalassaemia Society of Mauritius

Thalassemia Society is a registered NGO (Reg No N/1229) created in 2009 to help those who are by the disease. The broad objectives of the association are

To support the patients and their families and counsel and educate them on the management of Thalassemia
To campaign for blood collection for Thalassemic patients
To advocate for creation of better transfusion and treatment facilities
To raise funds and provide equipment and medicines for under priviledged thalassemic patients.
To create awareness among public and advocate for screening and counselling programmes for the control of Thalassemia
To promote collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Quality of Life, WHO, and Regional and International thalassemia groups societies like Thalassemia International Federation.
To provide support to patients with other genetic haematological disorders such as Sickle Cell Anaemia and other blood disorders

1000 jours/ GEM

The first 1,000 days are a time of tremendous potential and enormous vulnerability. How well or how poorly mothers and children are nourished and cared for during this time has a profound impact on a child’s ability to grow, learn and thrive. This is because the first 1,000 days are when a child’s brain begins to grow and develop and when the foundations for their lifelong health are built.The 1,000 days from pregnancy to age two offers a crucial window of opportunity to create brighter, healthier futures. And the GEM works towards that through health education in Mauritius.

Our greatest assets are our highly educated and experienced medication experts. Transphorm pharmacists are competent, self-motivated and life-long learners. They are trained to conduct comprehensive medication reviews, manage patients’ medications, and make recommendations for changes as necessary. They can also help monitor health parameters such as body weight, blood pressure, blood glucose. Transphorm pharmacists can provide you with Medical device training (e.g. glucose monitors, inhalers, nebulizers). They can also measure and deliver compression stockings. Our pharmacists demonstrate empathy and kindness, know how to improve medication adherence through creative solutions and empower patients to become independent in their own health care.
